The NBA Draft brought generally good results for the young men of local interest. Scott County Central’s Otto Porter got to stay in Washington D.C., sliding over from Georgetown University to the Wizards as the no-brainer No. 3 pick in the draft. It is hard to imagine a better fit for him. Wellston’s Ben McLemore slipped a bit to No. 7, but he could become the best player in this draft. A long and productive professional career awaits him. Mizzou center Alex Oriakhi landed with the Phoenix Suns late in the second round, giving him a chance to bang bodies at training camp. Why can’t he become an excellent NBA role player?
